Inspiration on International Women's Day

International Women’s Day has come and gone but we at Women of the World think of March as International Women’s Month. In fact, International Women’s Day is now an official holiday in countries all over and world and is rapidly gaining recognition and popularity all over the globe. Everyday is a benchmark for women and only if we let the day pass does it really end. Let us take the next step and push to declare March as International Women’s Month. If enough voices speak up and ask for it, one day could turn into 31 days. March could move from one day of the celebration of women to an entire month where we not only celebrate but spread consciousness and awareness of women, our rights, our stories and our contributions to the world. We want to remind all our readers that each and every woman can be empowered and an inspiration to others. Below is a list of bullets to keep in mind in order to become an inspiration to all those women (and men!) around you.
Find your passion- and follow it! Try new things and investigate the world around you if you haven’t already found your passion (or even if you have!). Does your excitement come from volunteering, yoga, gardening, travel? Do those activities fulfill you? Do others notice that about you? When your face lights up from the excitement your passion brings, others see that and get inspired by you!
Make time for your passions. It is easy to get bogged down with the everyday: your job, bills, errands, even what to make for dinner. Sometimes our passions don’t get time slots booked into our calendar and we just don’t make time for what we truly care about. Remember that doing what you love is rewarding and you need to follow that passion! Block out time (everyday? every week? every month?) for what you love, because that will ease your stress, make you happy, and be something to look forward to.
Put in your best effort. People (your boss, friends, significant other and even acquaintances) notice when you work hard. Not only will you be raising your productivity, but you will be inspiring others when they see what a rockstar you are.
Keep an open mind and ear. Nothing is as inspiring as an individual who will not only teach what they know, but will listen to the wisdom of others as well. Just because you are now on your way to becoming the next Person of the Year doesn’t mean you know everything. Listen, learn, inspire.

Women of the World would love to hear about the inspiring women in your life. Post a comment and spread the word about those women who have made an impact on you!
