Notes from Abroad

Nov 8 - Beersheva Inspiration strikes in the most remote places - in the middle of the Negev in Israel - the NCJW Mission visits a granting site - NISPED - Amal Elsana Aimjooj, head of the Taliyah program who’s pictured above, opens my heart and mind to my core beliefs - women want to spend time with other women, sharing possibities and experiences with little regard for borders, faith, fashion, and language. Collaboration, compassion, cooperation are the cornerstones of peace and achievement. It is so reminiscent of the words of former Justice Sandra Day O'Connor: "We don't accomplish anything in this world alone...and whatever happens is the result of the whole tapestry of one's life and all the weavings of individual threads from one to another that creates something."

Negev Institute for Strategies of Peace and Development (NISPED) is an affiliate organization of Negev College that promotes peace and development by focusing on civil society. This program offers young Bedouin women an opportunity to develop themselves personally and professionally and creates conditions that encourage and enable them to access higher education.
